01 / WHY WE KEEP PHOTOGRAPHS
Some days stay with us.
Others wait in a photograph.
A summer when we were children. A journey with no particular plan. The afternoon we first held a camera. People we once saw every day, whose lives now carry on somewhere else.
Time softens the details. We forget the weather, the conversation, who was standing just outside the frame. Then, years later, a photograph finds its way back to us. For a moment, so does the life around it.
Perhaps this is why we take photographs. We cannot always know what a moment will mean to us. We can only notice it, and leave ourselves a way back.
02 / HOW IT BEGAN
First, the cameras.
Then, everything they held.
Our story with film began in 2021, with pre-owned cameras. Through those well-loved bodies and lenses, we witnessed a new generation discovering film, and others finding their way back to it.
In 2023, we began a new chapter: developing and scanning film. We wanted to be there for the whole journey, from the excitement of loading a roll to the quiet joy of seeing the photographs for the first time.
Our first lab opened in Melbourne with a simple ambition: to be a place people could trust. Develop each roll with care. Scan each frame thoughtfully. Make it easier for people to keep taking photographs.
A golden era is not always a chapter in history. Sometimes, it is simply a chapter in your own life.
The year your child learned to walk. A trip you still talk about. Friends around a dinner table, with no occasion beyond being together.
So often, the days we wish we could return to felt quite ordinary while we were living them.

The responsibility is ours.
We do not need to know the story behind an image to treat it as something worth keeping. When you leave a roll with us, we take that trust seriously.
That care lives in the work: preparing chemistry, maintaining our machines, paying attention to colour, and checking the images we return. Each step matters because the moments on your film cannot be repeated.
We respect the craft of traditional photography and welcome what new technology makes possible. What matters to us is how a photograph makes you feel, and how faithfully we can help you keep it.
