Frequently Asked Questions
How much does film developing cost in Sydney?
At Irohas Photo in Sydney CBD, C-41 colour film developing with hi-res 24MP scans is $17 per roll. Dev only (no scan) is $11. B&W is $19 dev+scan or $12 dev only. All prices include our standard 24MP scan at no extra charge.
Do you offer same-day film developing in Sydney?
Yes — C-41 colour film can be developed and scanned same-day if you drop off by 3pm. This applies to our Sydney CBD walk-in location. It's one of the fastest turnarounds in Australia.
What types of film do you develop?
We develop C-41 colour, B&W, E-6 slide film, and ECN-2 cinema film. We also offer push and pull processing (+$5 per stop). All formats including 35mm and 120 medium format are supported.
What resolution are your film scans?
All our Dev+Scan orders include hi-res 24MP scans as standard — no upgrade required. 35mm scans at 4011×6048 pixels, and 120 medium format at 4492×6774 pixels. Scanned on a Noritsu V50 lab scanner.
Can I mail in my film from interstate?
Absolutely. We accept mail-in orders from anywhere in Australia. Visit our mail-in guide for full instructions on how to safely package and send your film.
Do you develop E-6 slide film?
Yes — Irohas Photo operates Australia's only E-6 Noritsu roller-transport processing machine. This means true lab-quality E-6 development, not a modified C-41 workaround. Turnaround is 7 business days for E-6 at our Sydney lab.
What is ECN-2 film and do you process it?
ECN-2 is the chemical process used for cinema/movie film stocks like Kodak Vision 3. It requires a specialist process different from standard C-41. We process ECN-2 film at $25 dev+scan or $15 dev only, with a 3 business day turnaround.
Can I get push or pull processing?
Yes. Push and pull processing is available for $5 per stop on top of the standard developing price. Just let us know at drop-off (or in your mail-in note) how many stops you'd like pushed or pulled.
Do you develop disposable cameras?
Yes — disposable camera film is developed using the standard C-41 process. Just bring in your disposable camera and we'll extract and develop the film. Browse our disposable camera collection if you need a camera too.
How will I receive my scanned photos?
After processing, you'll receive a digital download link via email. Files are delivered as high-quality JPEGs. You can also opt to have your original negatives returned in a protective sleeve.
What is Noritsu V50 scanning?
The Noritsu V50 is a professional-grade film scanner used by high-end labs worldwide. Unlike flatbed scanners, it uses a dedicated optical path optimised for film, producing consistent colour, accurate grain rendering, and sharp detail across every frame.
Do you sell 35mm film in Sydney?
Yes — visit our 35mm film collection online to browse Kodak, Fuji, Ilford and more. In-store stock varies — call ahead to confirm availability at our Sydney CBD location.
