Which Kodak Film Should I Choose?
Kodak Portra
Normally, photographers will go for Kodak Portra. Manufactured during the rise of the digital camera, Kodak Portra captures the true-to-life tones that match or even surpass digital cameras’ ability. The Portra series has a very high exposure latitude and ISO, making them perfect for an all-day shoot. They capture pictures just as well at dawn/dusk, even with very little light. Moreover, Kodak Portra is better at capturing skin tones, ensuring they are lifelike. This feature makes it the favourite for portraits or wedding photography.
Choose between Portra 160 (finer grain, low-speed, perfect skin tones), Portra 400 (high exposure latitude for all-day shoot), or Portra 800 (low-light photography and fast action).
Kodak Ektar
Kodak Ektar is great for landscape and street photography, due to its high exposure. They are great for shooting during daylight, capturing fine details. Ektar is especially good for scanning, producing HD and sharp digital photos.
Irohas stock both 35mm and 120 Kodak Ektar films, depending on your preference. 35mm is great for casual, day-to-day photography, while the 120 is better suited for landscape photography.
Kodak ColorPlus, Gold 200 and UltraMax
Kodak ColorPlus, Gold 200, and UltraMax are the three consumer-grade films, usually used for casual photography. They all have the signature ‘warmth’ that sparks nostalgia. Think old family photos, a bit grainy with colour muted in all the right ways.
They are more affordable, but still absolutely produce great photos that you hold close to heart for years to come.
